I Am Scared For The Filipino People

I am scared for the Filipino people.

Nag-joke ako noong panahon ng eleksyon na pag nanalo si Jojo Binay I will move to another country and be an OFW para hindi ma-subject sa pamamahala nya. Yun eh dahil I didn't think Du30 will win. Now that he did, now that he's doing what he said he will do nung campaign period; Ngayon nag-aawayaway na ang mga Pilipino na nagccriticize at nagdedefend sakanya.

Let's all be real, may nagaganap na giyera sa social network ngayon. Sa mga points ng mga sumusunod:

1. Marcos burial sa libingan ng mga bayani
2. Extra-judicial killings sa war on drugs and all the issues that goes along with it
3. Impulsiveness ni President Digong sa mga decision nya
4. Tactless and vulgar demeanor whenever he makes a speech
5. Fanaticism ng mga Duterte supporters
6. ...at ang simpleng pag respeto sa isang bagay na tinatawag nating "Logic"

Nakakatakot yung huli, nakakatakot yung mindset na "ah basta!" Walang respeto sa logic, reason, facts and evidences. Ah basta ganon yun!

Hindi ako against Duterte, hindi ako maka-Binay, hindi ako maka-PNoy. Ang totoo wala akong pinapanigan, non-partisan ika nga, kasi hindi naman ako registered voter at sabi nga ng teen god na si DJP, "hindi naman kayo boboto so shut up na lang." Kasama ako dun. Pero bilang tax payer at yung freedom of expression, baka naman may karapatan akong mag pahayag ng sentiments ko. Gusto ko lang ipahayag ang takot, kahihiyan at pagka-dismaya ko sa pag ignore natin sa logic at manners.

Makaluma ba? Backward thinking ba ang pag base sa logic at pagbigay respeto sa ibang tao sa pamamagitan ng manners? Nasaan ang disiplina kung shame campaign ang paiiralin natin?

This all boils down to what the media wants us to think, the headlines shape the way we think. If only news outlets will take a step back and look at the big picture kung gaano ka-powerful yung mga pina-publish nila. Kaya nawawalan ng logic ang mga Pilipino kasi we blindly follow what is being shown to us, what the media wants us to think, what the social media perceives as COOL.

We must all remember that we are all given brains to think, we are rational beings naman diba? Why not use reasoning and logic, base our opinions on facts and evidences. Let us not succumb to hearsay and "eh sabi sa peysbuk ganon eh." I assure you Filipino people, this FANATICISM will be our downfall.

IT STARS, ERIK MCCORMACK, WILL FROM WILL AND GRACE. WELL LET’S TALK ABOUT THE ACTOR LATER. 

FIRST LET’S START WITH THE PREMISE OF THE SERIES IT STARS DANIEL AN ECCENTRIC NEUROSCIENTIST WHO HAS A SCHIZOPHRENIC CONDITION IT TACKLES HIS STRUGGLES IN LIFE AS A PROFESSOR WITH HIS CONDITION. IT ALSO GIVES US A PEEK ON HIS LOVE LIFE, WELL PEEK IS KND OF AN UNDERSTATEMENT SINCE THE DIRECTION OF THE FIRST TWO EPISODES OF THE SHOW IS ABOUT DANIEL’S RELUCTANCE TO VENTURE INTO AN INTIMATE RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS COLLEAGUE AND FORMER STUDENT AN FBI AGENT NAMED KATE MORRETI.

IT’S LIKE A MASH UP OF MONK MEETS HOUSE MEETS LIE TO ME MEETS CRIMINAL MINDS. TO SAY THE LEAST IT LACKS ORIGINALITY THOUGH IT GAVE US A NEW KIND OF CRIME SOLVING. ANOTHER “SCIENCE” THAT IS VERY INTRIGUING SINCE IT’S USUAL PURPOSE IS NOT RELATED TO CRIME SOLVING, MUCH LIKE NUMB3RS AND CASTLE. SEE I CAN NAME A WHOLE LOT OF SERIES THAT SOMEHOW DEPICTS THE SAME IDEA!

BUT ON A LIGHTER NOTE, IT IS QUITE INTRIGUING ON HOW THEY COULD CREATE A MUCH MORE IN DEPTH AND INTERESTING STORYLINE SINCE THE SCOPE OF THE PREMISE IS VERY LIMITED IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO SEE HOW THE WRITERS WILL CREATE FRESH AND INTERESTING STORY LINES OTHER THAN THE HOUSE-MEETS-MONK PREMISE AND THE FORCED LOVE STORY BETWEEN ERIK AND RACHEL LEIGH THAT CLEARLY LACKS CHEMISTRY.

AS FOR ERIK MCCORMACK BEING THE LEAD CHARACTER I GUESS I SHOULD MAKE AN EFFORT TO FORGET HIS CHARACTER IN WILL IN GRACE SINCE THEY ARE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT CHARACTERS WITH NOTHING IN COMMON.

BUT THEN AGAIN IT’S STILL VERY EARLY IN THE STORY TO COMPLETELY CAPTURE THE IDEA OF THE STORY AND CRITIQUE THE SAME IN DEPTH. I WOULD DEFINITELY FOLLOW THIS SERIES.

ika-9 ng Enero taong 2012, pista ngayon ng Itim na Nazareno ang patron ng Quiapo Church. wala nanamang pasok sa San Beda, kaya nag-leave ako sa trabaho. magandang dahilan hindi ba? haha!

2012 kakaiba ang kaganapan sa Quiapo dahil inabot ng buong araw at posible pang maging dalawang araw ang pag usad ng prusisyon ng Itim na Nazareno mula Quirino Grandstand hanggang Quiapo Church dahil sa Logistical Error at Implementation stupidity.

Hindi yung mga aberya ang nkapagpabadtrip saken, kundi ung mga tao mismo. yung purpose nung procession. baket? baket nauwe sa malinaw na IDOLATRY ang mga Pinoy? kala ko ba mga debotong Kristiyano ang karamihan ng mga Pilipino? pero bakit ganito? wala ng pinagkaiba ang mga taong halos taon taon eh sinusugal ang buhay makasali lang sa prusisyon, sa mga taong sumasamba sa GOLDEN CALF na nabanggit sa EXODUS 32:4 

 
Nagiging desperado na ba tayong mga Pilipino sa hirap ng buhay naten kaya nagaya na tayo sa mga Israelaites na ito na sa pagkawala ni Moses eh nauwi sila sa pagsamba sa golden calf na to? hindi kaya wala na tayong pananampalataya at paniniwala sa Diyos kaya ganun ka grabe ang devotion ng mga tao sa Physical representation ng Diyos? kase ndi na sila satisfied sa mere Faith?

Kaya ako, mejo magssteer away muna ako sa conventional stuff na ganyan. I'd rather believe in what i know kesa naman sumamba sa isang bagay na gawa sa kahoy. Hindi ako isang stupid follower para maniwala sa mga bagay na walang basehan.

WESTLIFE my LIFE :)

On SEPTEMBER 29, 2011 at the SMART ARANETA COLISEUM in Cubao, QC. My childhood dream came true. I finally saw Westlife perform live. Nung grade school pa ko, I was so obsessed with them, na tipong yung room ko puno ng posters and pictures nla, even articles about them. Hindi na nakaktuwa ung obsession ko sa kanila back then, CREEPY na ko nun. HAHAHAHA!

All that hardcore westlife fan phase ko biglang nawala nung HS kse that time everyone was saying that they're baduy, jologs and shit. So ako naman sumunod sa uso, naisip ko din na baduy cla. So kinalimutan ko sila nun, at nakinig sa iba't ibang kinds ng musika. From alternative to emo/screamo, prog rock, metal, RnB, house, acoustic and all other shits. Kaya ngayon wla akong favorite genre kse nakikinig ako ng boybands to pero metal. HAHA! malabo i know.

Nabalik ang obsession ko sa Westlife before i graduate college kse okey na ko, pde ko na gstuhin lahat ng gusto ko ng wapakels sa iniisip ng ibang tao. dahil dun nagkaron na ko ng confidence na MANOOD MAG-ISA ng WESTLIFE GRAVITY 2011 TOUR. :) at madami akong narealize sa experience na to.

1. MASAYA MANOOD MAG ISA -  ndi ko sinasabi to jst to make myself feel good kase totoo. :) nakkareact ako sa ng tama. d ako nag aadjust sa kasama ko. sisigaw ako kng gsto ko, kakanta ko kng gsto ko kse d nman ako kilala ng mga ktabi ko eh. HAHAHA!

2. HINDI KO GUSTO ANG WESTLIFE, MAHAL KO SILA - simula nung mga panahon na paslit at inosente pa ko westlife na sila at ngayong madami na kong alam sila pa din ang westlife na nakagisnan ko. :)

3. HINDI AKO HARDCORE FAN - and i hate myself for that. may fans na todo T-shirt at todo banner at signs pa. nainggit ako sa kanila. HAHAHA!!

4. IBANG KLASE ANG WESTLIFE - sa lahat ng boybands na sumikat between 1995-2003 sila nlang ang tanging buo pa din. kahit nabawasan sila, hindi sila na-disband tulad ng backstreet boys, a1, blue, nsync, plus one, o-town at kung ano pang boy band na d ko na maalala.

at kahit gaano ko pa ideny na hindi baduy tong pinagsasasabe ko, alam ko baduy kaya titigil na ko. HAHAHA! magbblog na ko ng madalas para maging productive nman ako kahit ppano.

in focus: OTH season 8

I've been an OTH fan since i was in high school and until now 5 years later, I am still an OTH fan. i've seen its glory days, and its over, it was loooooong over. even when LEYTON were still on the show it has lost its magic already and it turned into a storyline in LIMBO. the series should have been over around the 6th or 7th season. Its continuing storyline is just a disgrace on the magic it had during the first half of the series. Now that the season 9 is coming, i hope they can still make it more interesting. let's just wish that this season will be the last.

i just finished watching OTH s08e22 which is the finale of the 8th season. please allow me to state several comments about the episode and the season.

1. TIME FRAME
the last two episodes of the season presented a story that is about a year long. from Brooke's pregnancy to Chase's Airforce deployment. all of these details were introduced and concluded in two episodes, particularly s08e21-22.

2. JAMIE-MADISON STORYLINE
really? a love story between 8 year old kids?   i don't think the seriousness and drama that the show i known for deserves to include a storyline that dumb. the idea of involving Jamie's love life is just dumb, they should've used the time to intensify the other storylines.

3. SHALLOW CONFLICTS
chase and Alex's situation is more serious than the way it was presented. it was an opportunity for the writers to put more mature conflicts in the story but they just flew past it. another shallow conflict is the fortitude agents' search for their new client they presented the problem and solved it in less than 40mins. what is this a crime show? in reality that would've taken months!!

4. MILLIE & MOUTH/ MOUTH & MILLIE SHOW
this idea came out of nowhere. the show wasn't built up, hence it didn't mean a lot for the viewers. mouth has been unemployed since the beginning of the season, don't you think that his employment should have been built up? and that leaving the BUM life should have been celebrated?

5. ANTWON AKA 'SKILLZ'
where was he? he was a part of the story since the series started. he deserves a much more meaningful character, attention should have been given to him instead of Jamie's love life. he was an extra through out the whole season 8, and that didn't give him justice.

6. THE RIVERCOURT
the place was the heart of the show. its influence were in every character of the show. its wasn't given that much importance as the show concluded (in this number, i am assuming that this is the series finale). the show should have intensified the influence of the place. -nuff said.

7. CLAY & QUINN
they are so in love that the only thing missing is a ring on Quinn's finger. i don't see anything exciting about their live story! Mark Schwann please give Clay's character some balls to propose! he's too gay!

8. BROOKE & JULIAN
Brooke became pregnant in 8x21 and gave birth in 8x22. This disappointed me, big time. her infertility is a conflict since season 6 (if i'm not mistaken) it was a very big deal not just for BRULIAN but also the other characters. And yet her pregnancy and childbirth weren't given enough attention, this may have been a big part of the plot. again, they just flew past this storyline.

9. NATHAN & DAN
their relationship should have been fixed. (this may be the focus on the 9th season) the way the Dan topic was brought up in 8x21 was not enough to match the depth of the father and son conflict.

10. KAREN'S CAFE
it's probably a good thing that they revived this concept, this reminded me of the first 3 seasons of the show, the good times. haha! i believe that the writers were trying to put the KAREN-LUCAS vibe in the characters of HAILEY-JAMIE i'm sorry to tell you Mr. Schwann, you FAILED.

the last scene of the season finale was Jamie dribbling a basketball through a bridge wearing the scott's body shop hoodie. familiar? yea coz that was Lucas. The premise implied is that Jamie will be Lucas, and that another generation of Tree Hill kids were about to make a new story. I say this is as GOOD AS THE SERIES FINALE. making a season 9 would just ruin the show's conclusion of season 8. it's better to have an open ending like that instead of continuing with the story and mess everything up.

In a nutshell, the show now lacks INTENSITY to be identified as a DRAMA series.

I just love this show so much that I am so disappointed as to where it was lead by the writers. I hope they will do good with the 13 episodes left for the next season. and the never ending wish for LEYTON to come back.

BTW, i call myself the couch potato since i am a TV bum since i was in grade school i think i earned the title through the years of being a bum. and now that i am unemployed and that my life is headed nowhere i might as well make this and somehow put some sense into my thoughts and activities.
